Pregnancy is without a doubt a beautiful experience but lets not ignore the fact that the entire process can be a bit taxing on your body. For first time mothers pregnancy is completely uncharted territory and with all the focus on your new bundle of joy and post baby body fitness, the changes to expect during and post pregnancy are sometimes overlooked and can come as a big surprise.
1. Weak Bladder
One of the immediate changes you may notice is incontinence. Pregnancy and child birth can weaken the pelvic floor muscles and in some cases can cause nerve damage regardless of how you deliver. Kegal exercises (tightening of the pelvic muscles) can help strengthen your pelvic floor. You may want to begin exorcises as soon as possible after delivery.
2. Increased Sweating
When you're pregnant your body retains and produces a lot more fluid and after delivery that fluid needs to escape your body. You may wake up in night sweats or simply perspire more in general.
3. Larger Vagina
This is probably the most surprising change of them all. Many women are under the impression that after pregnancy their vagina will return to its normal shape and size over time, but truth is it probably will never return to its pre-birth shape. In most cases vaginal widening is minimal and muscles begin to tighten over the next year or so. And good news, the change in shape doesn't usually interfere or affect your post delivery sex-life one bit!
4. Increased Shoe Size
Due to your body retaining fluid your ankles and feet may begin to swell durning and post pregnancy. Again this fluid needs somewhere to go so you may find shoe shopping difficult over the next six months or so. In some cases your feet can increase by a whole size or more permanently.
5. Down a Bra Cup Size
Its not uncommon for new moms to go down a bra cup size post baby and we're talking a cup down from your pre-pregnacy cup size not those mid-pregnancy eye catching melons you once adored on this journey.
Ladies today is all about the lover in you and they don’t call it V-Day for nothing! Valentines day is the perfect time to show yourself a little extra attention. And we’re not suggesting ditching the boo, because he or she is more than welcome to watch.
For years masturbation remains such taboo topic especially for women. Ladies, single or coupled, tend to shy away when talk of “petting the kitten” arises and they're usually ashamed to admit that those solo sessions ever occurred.
Aside from masturbation being completely normal mammal behavior, its healthy for you too! According to good’ol Web MD, It increases blood flow throughout your body and releases endorphins in the brain, elevating your mood and relieving stress. And did i mention its completely NORMAL BEHAVIOR!
But regardless of all the medical benefits, it feels good and allows you to become more in tune with your body. So while you're relaxing in that hot bubble bath, listening to your well though out Valentines Day playlist, here are five ways to show yourself some V-Day love.
1. Seduce yourself. Take it slow. Allow your mind to take control. Role-play, become a complete stranger if you have to and enjoy the strange encounter. You'll be surprised how quickly you’ll get lost in your fantasy.
2. Get Messy. Don’t be afraid to make a big splash! Choose your favorite sexy foods and squirt, rub or drip them all over you. Get invested in the experience and you lick the mess away.
3. Do it in front of the mirror. Watching yourself may seem a little uncomfortable at first but relax and indulge in what you look like while receiving such pleasure. Maybe use a fun toy as a prop.
4. Try something new. If you usually use your hands try something new! Use a simple vibrating toy. Maybe you are a fan of clitoral stimulation. Try straddling a towel or pillow.
5. Let Him Watch. Masturbation is all bout you but it doesn't mean that your partner cant enjoy your pleasure. Sit at opposite sides of the bed and let it happen. It won't be long before he joins in, giving you the perfect view to take you over the top!
Have fun today ladies and enjoy the VDAY that is yours!

Alright livies, while we're prepping for this thing called life and making ourselves better, we must remember that practice is key. I'm sharing my morning routine because it's a great way to build better habits, develop positive practices and hold yourself accountable. Now, lets jump into the "whats", "whys" and "hows"!
Once I'm up and out of the bed its all good vibes from there. But first things first, I must give thanks for waking up and a seeing another day. Then, its 20mins of detox YOGA, a quick seep of some monkey picked oolong (green tea), and a fresh and fit breakfast! Routines can benefit your life in more than one way but its up to you to reap the benefits, by designing a realistic practice that keeps you encouraged and challenges your mind, body, and soul.
I began my morning routine in hope that these "planned" actions will one day become habitual and a subconscious effort. I decided that I wanted to challenge myself mentally, physically and spiritually in some way.
The "why" for your routine should come from a need that is all your own. Don't be tempted to practice your homegirls routine or mine for that matter if it doesn't honestly appeal to you. Keep it honest and your learned habits will benefit you longterm.
A large part of mastering a routine is accountability. Performing these practices during the mornings that you are completely unmotivated, hung over, drowsy, or just ready to give life the middle finger are when they will count most. This is when you will feel the greatest return on your investment, and believe me, it is an investment. Hold yourself accountable and you'll pride yourself in your abilities.
Now, some probably worry that doing the same thing over and over each day may become a bit mundane but it's really not that big of a drag. Your personal routine should be a natural fit in your life. For me, praying, green and exercise where all present prior, but now these actions are deliberate and in a sense, scheduled.
When designing your routine, keep practices you already enjoy, but are not yet habitual, in mind. Think of exercises, foods or spiritual actions that you've been meaning to do more often. You may even include a new practice that you're excited to incorporate.
If you are drawing a blank as to what your morning routine should consist of, seek inspiration but keep it simple. Begin with three practices. One for your mind, body and soul.
Set fear aside! I tell you this all the time but it is easier said than done. Don't bring bad energy and fear into your bright new world of repetition. All you need to complete this task is motivation, effort, and accountability.
Way back in the month of April (April 2014) we had the pleasure of attending an annual earth day event, Broccoli Fest! While there, we caught up with an amazing group of vegan guys and found out what its really like to be young male and vegan. We got the scoop on the vegan dating scene, what vegan friendly foods work best in bedroom and even found out if non vegan girls are ever allowed on the menu. You may be surprised at their willingness to wine and cleanly dine despite the emasculating stereotypes.
Traditionally society has made it almost a taboo to be masculine and vegan simultaneously. Media, society, culture, tradition, and other external factors tell us that eating meat is part of what it means to be considered a "manly" man and that those who opt out are trading their manhood for a floral decorated apron.
"I guess its not seen as manly", said James, "A lot of people in my family are like yeah, why don't you just get a steak? And I'm like nah, I kind of want brown rice."
But, to some, vegan men come off as alluring rebels, daring to be different. How macho is it to have a man who takes a stand for what he believes in? And one who can romanticize tofu? When asked about dating these guys were full of creative ideas. Sharing kale encounters on the beach, pricy salmon dinners and tasty bedroom shenanigans. They all agree that "there is always the opportunity to get dirty" despite how clean they eat and being vegan doesn't necessarily change how they get down with their significant others. But, it does effect who they choose to get down with.
When asked would they ever kiss or taste a non vegan woman they all paused before answering, as not to offend me, and then proceeded shaking their heads no. "The taste isn't really the same," said one "Its a little different, strange" said the other.
Hold on, before all the meat eating divas begin to defend their neatly kept "pocketbooks", ladies there may be some truth to this "cleaner taste better" theory. According to Frugivore Magazine, vegan men are said to have quicker and longer lasting erections, smell better, and “TASTE” better. See, it goes both ways. This shows that the food we consume may matter more than we care to notice. The red meat and manufactured foods that we eat causes toxins in our bodies that produce body order and acidic tasting bodily secretions. Now if that has not changed your mind about your graveyard bodies what will?
Either way, the "I'm a vegan" mantra is becoming a real thing amongst all cultures. It seems its not a question of gender but more of health and personal choice. Disregard the stereotypes ladies and give a vegan guy a try. He may do things with your almond milk that you never imagined (winks).

Somewhere on earth gym rat cookie lovers will rejoice! We've found the perfect snack for your post workout meal. If you're anything like me, and hate those daily protein shakes, (which by the way are totally the most effective) this is a great reason to leave the blender bottle at home. With peanut butter and chocolate chips in every bite, these flavorful cookies not only satisfy that nagging sweet-tooth but also provide 52 grams of protein in each batch.
According to bodybuilder.com, whey protein powder is as close as it gets to a "required supplement" for anyone hoping to build muscle, gain a performance advantage, drop body fat, or enhance overall health and wellness. Consuming protein after exercise compensates for the increased breakdown of protein in the body that occurs during training, while also providing it with the stimulus for muscle growth. Whey protein is ideal for post-workout recovery because it’s easily digested and has a high concentration of essential amino acids.
While these cookies alone are not enough to produce "body building" results, they are still a tasty way to up the protein "anti" especially if you are new to the world of whey or simply tired of chugging shakes. This recipe can be used with whey or soy protein and can be modified flavor-wise to your liking. So heres to all our guilty cookie lovers out there sneaking snacks in the gym locker room, enjoy!
